The Shamanic Shining Resources
for Healing & Spiritual Growth

What is shamanism?

Shamanism is considered the most ancient, spiritual practice known to man which originated as early as the Paleolithic age – different archeological studies suggest anywhere between 12,000 to 100,000 years ago.  The earliest known and undisputed archeological record of a shaman excavation dates back 12,000 years to a burial site in Israel.  Shamans have existed all over the world on each continent throughout human history.  However, Siberia, holds a special place in the history of shamanism.  “Shaman” is derived from the word šaman which comes from the Tungus tribe of Siberia and translates to “one who knows.” Following the ancient paths of shamanism from one continent to another, a common thread exists as to the role of shamanism: a spiritual practice which bridges the human, earthly realm and the spiritual realm, and harnessing the healing power of the natural world which has existed for countless generations.

What is shamanic energy clearing?

The shamanic practitioner will have a conversation about what you are looking to get out of the experience and then connect with Spirit in non-ordinary reality for guidance and healing.  This work can be done in person or remotely.  In either case, the client should be in a relaxed environment.  With direction from Spirit, the shamanic practitioner works through each chakra and the luminous energy field which extends about 3 to 6 feet from your physical body. During this healing process, the shamanic practitioner describes to the client what she sees, hears, feels, and knows about what Spirit is sharing.  Examples of what might be cleared are unhealthy energies, ancestral and past life work, vows, curses and hexes. In response, Spirit may offer guidance and support.

These same techniques can be applied to clear homes and properties.

What is the difference between a shaman and a shamanic practitioner?

One only needs to browse the internet to find that one, succinct definition does not exist as to what a shaman is.  Perhaps the difficulty lies within the fact that most native shamans do not call themselves shamans, nor do they perceive it as a religion.  The concept of “shamanism” is the creation of scholars and anthropologists to coin an aspect of a certain kind of spiritual experience.

That being said, shamans devote their entire lives to serving their community, usually initiated by Spirit into this special role.  Historically, they have been doctors, healers, wisdom keepers, oracles, and counselors. Shamans guided their community on hunting, planting, harvesting, and everything in between.  They are trusted members in their community and act as guardians of the sacred relationship between humans, nature, and spirit.  Their role is to access wisdom to treat physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual imbalances, to mediate between human and spirit realms, and to preserve harmony between humans and nature.

A shamanic practitioner is rooted in the ancient practice of shamanism, usually blending ancient traditions from around the world with new practices as a way to evolve and adapt, making it more accessible and relatable in modern times.  A shamanic practitioner may have a smaller role and perhaps offer a smaller array of services than a traditional shaman.  The new modern shamanism is criticized by some as appropriation of indigenous cultures and traditions and embraced by others as evidence for the desire to return to spirit and nature.  When posed with the question of one being drawn to Shamanism, Granddaughter Crow of the Navajo Nation explains that traditional shamans are born into the DNA but this does not necessarily mean the DNA is human, cultural, or bloodline.  It could also be a coding in their soul, a spiritual lineage, and she encourages people to not be afraid of identifying as such.

The Munay-Ki are rites that “activate consciousness toward an embodied and transcendental perception” as defined by Marcela Lobos.  These rites were born in 1996 when Alberto Villoldo and 20 of his students joined Don Manuel Quispe, a Q’ero shaman, with nearly 100 of his people to trek up Mount Ausangate in Peru.  During the ceremony on top of the sacred mountain, a bridge was built between ancient Q’ero wisdom and modern times where the Munay-Ki would be the tool. “We have been the keepers of rites that usher in who we are becoming as a people, as a planet.  These processes are not only for the Indians, but for the entire World,” explained Don Manuel Quispe.  The Munay-Ki were designed for the Western world based on ancient rites.  The traditional rites of initiation of the Q’ero belong to their people and lineage.  Respect is due to their Andean cultures and way of life and infinite gratitude for bringing the Munay-Ki to the rest of the world.

Who are the Q’eros?

The Q’eros are the last descendants of the Incas who lived high in the Andes Mountains of Peru for 500 years to seek refuge from conquistadors.  For 500 years, they lived in solitude, preserving their way of life and their ancient knowledge and wisdom.  The Q’ero elders emerged from their solitude sharing a prophecy of great change to come. “Love and compassion, will be the guiding force of this great gathering of the peoples. The new caretakers of the Earth will come from the West, and those that have made the greatest impact on Mother Earth now have the moral responsibility to remake their relationship with Her, after remaking themselves,” said Don Antonio Morales, a master Q’ero shaman. The Q’eros are sharing their medicine, wisdom, and tools with the West in fulfillment of this prophecy in preparation for a new way of being.  The prophecy in detail can be found here:

The Shamanic Shining

“Me, I’ve always called it shining… A lot of folks, they got a little bit of shine to them. They don’t even know it. But they always seem to show up with flowers when their wives are feelin’ blue with the monthlies, they do good on school tests they don’t even study for, they got a good idea how people are feelin’ as soon as they walk into a room.”

~ Stephen King, The Shining ~

They loved it!

I have had the pleasure of working with Diana for both personal shamanic sessions as well as animal reiki. Diana is an incredible intuitive and brings an easy sense of calm and safety to sessions (shamanic and reiki). What I love most about our shamanic work together has been her ability to bring humor and playfulness to areas that otherwise feel too dense for me to delve into on my own. She navigates energy with intention and respect while still being detailed and communicating clearly. On the animal reiki side of things - wow. The dogs and horses she has worked on for my family have greatly benefited. She explains what is going on in real time and we watched the changes in their demeanor as it happened. I also greatly appreciate Diana's awareness and use of time. When the animals were done, she was done - it felt like true respect for their free will.

I have been fortunate to have several reiki and shamanic sessions with Diana. My sessions with her were always enlightening as she had a clear channel to the spirit world. Her energy is palpable. I was in a despairing place during the time of our sessions and with her guidance I have been able to find peace and clarity. Months after our sessions, I reflect on our sessions and continue to see how profoundly my life has been impacted. Diana is a beautiful and genuine person. I would encourage you to meet with her if you have a curiosity about a more spiritual way of life or if you have discontent in any aspect of your life.
